Microsoft’s xbox event is finally here, and Don Mattrick took to the stage to announce the next-generation console: Xbox One. Its predecessor, the Xbox 360 was released almost eight years ago,which was a huge success for Microsoft. Microsoft has really stepped up its design game with this one, and looks like this time they are focusing on software innovation and interactive applications, giving a better gaming experience to the users.
Xbox One a very clean look with a new Voice recognition software and integrated into the console, allowing you to control almost every aspect of the Xbox One. The Xbox One will integrate into your television and cable which will allow viewers to easily find their favorite shows and channels via voice command, and find programs based on what is trending around the world.
Kinect is a powerful feature of the new Xbox One, Yusuf Mehdi, SVP of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business,demonstrated using voice activation to turn on the console, open programs and return to the home screen. The Xbox One also uses gesture controls to manipulate the Xbox home screen.
Console and Kinect hardware has been completely redesigned, so does the game controller with redesigned d-pad. Microsoft gave some idea of the hardware powering the One. It will feature an eight-core CPU, 8 gigs of RAM, a 500 gig HDD, a Blu-Ray Drive, 802.11 Wireless with Wi-Fi Direct, HDMI and USB 3.0.
Several impressive looking game were demoed at the Xbox One unvelling, Phil Spencer, the director of Xbox Studios, said that there will be 15 Xbox One-exclusive games launching within a year of launch, and eight of those will be new franchises.
Microsoft has announced a special partnership with EA (NFL) The Xbox One will have exclusive content that works with the Kinect and other services to extend fantasy football play.. Steven Spielberg also announced a a new television series based on the Halo, so Halo will become a premium television series. ( I am excited for this one)
Xbox One will launch later this year, Mattrick said.
